Ok--Ok--So I am such an Engineer but this is the coolest thing. In Monroe Louisiana they have miles and miles of levees, but those levees can block the view of the river, not such a good thing, but here in the downtown area along the riverfront they fixed that problem be designing a fold up flood wall. During dry (or peace times) this flood protection measure is an inoocuous sidewalk, however, when a flood threats, the sidewalk folds up into a flood wall to protect the downtown area. See, the Morweigians have nothing on us Americans, this was the first system of its kind back int he 70s, and those Norway people came over here to see how it works.
